The 5th European Choir Games & Grand Prix of Nations commenced in the city of Norrköping, Sweden. The Louis De Geer Konsert & Kongress played host to a heartwarming Opening Ceremony, setting the stage for a week filled with the melodious voices of choristers from around the world, and the atmosphere at the concert hall was charged with palpable excitement and anticipation.
Under the direction of Artistic Director Fred Sjöberg, a remarkable ensemble, including the Östgöta Blåsarsymfoniker and one of Sweden’s oldest choirs, Musikaliska Sällskapets Kammarkör, presented a diverse repertoire ranging from beloved choral classics to songs from the world-famous Astrid Lindgren’s films, and even the “Tattoo” tunes that conquered the Eurovision Song Contest stage this year.
