‘Te taukaea tangata – Breathing in, breathing out’, the Official Song of the World Choir Games 2024, was composed by distinguished New Zealand songwriter and NZ Music Hall of Fame inductee Don McGlashan, with added lyrics in te reo Māori by expert translator Hana Mereraiha.
Celebrating the importance of breath, voice, resonance, connection and trust – concepts familiar to all singers – the song also hints at the emergence of a young country and the weaving together of its people. We hope that TTTBIBO will become the musical heartbeat of the World Choir Games in Auckland.
